Day 15: A Bible Verse

I have read the Bible, but it was so long ago that I cannot even recall my favorite verse. Really, I do not remember many of the verses because of how long ago I read it.  However, I do know one, but only because it was repeated in a movie and I have seen the movie a million times. However, this verse was altered by Quentin Tarantino for the movie, so here is the movie version and the real version. I will not get into the fight of ‘is it wrong to change a bible quote or not’ because that is not what this blog is about. I am just completing the challenge for the day. I would like to keep discussion of religion out of it at this time.

Movie:

Ezekiel 25:17. “The path
of the righteous man is beset on
all sides by the inequities of the
selfish and the tyranny of evil
men. Blessed is he who, in the
name of charity and good will,
shepherds the weak through the
valley of darkness, for he is truly
his brother’s keeper and the finder
of lost children. And I will
strike down upon thee with great
vengeance and furious anger those
who attempt to poison and destroy
my brothers. And you will know my
name is the Lord when I lay my
vengeance upon you.”

Actual (From the King James Version):

17And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

Actually, there is another verse I remember…

John 11:35 “Jesus Wept.”

We were taught in bible school (when I used to go many many years ago) this is the shortest verse in the Bible but the most important because of the caring and compassion it shows.

Day 14: A Picture of me From Last Year and How I Have Changed.

This is a picture of me last year when I was 24 weeks along with my little girl. Obviously, the changes that I have this year is that I am not pregnant anymore! Also, I still have some of that baby weight and my lower abs are not quite that strong yet because of the C-Section, so they stick out a little (exercise and time are really helping that). Plus, my hair is black again since I could not dye it when I was pregnant and has layers cut in it! I have really changed a lot, but mostly because I am not carrying a little person inside of me anymore.

Day 13: My Goals

Everyone has goals for their life. The hard part is trying to achieve them! Here are the goals that I have in no particular order:

  1. Finish my Masters.
  2. Finish my Doctorate.
  3. Get a good job.
  4. Raise a happy and healthy family.
  5. Be with my husband forever
  6. Watch my daughter (and any other children I have) grow up to be a wonderful adult.
  7. Buy a house.
  8. Publish my novel.

What goals do you have?

Day 12: Things I Do Not Leave the House Without

There are a few things that I do not leave the house with:

  1. Purse – I think this is true for most woman. We keep everything we need in our purses and to leave home without it would be like leaving home without our heads! In my purse are essentials like my wallet, keys, and checkbook and not essentials like gum, chapstick, and a notebook.
  2. Phone – My phone is always around me. Not only for calls, but for text and emails too. I feel seriously lost without it. Plus I like to have it when I am driving anywhere in case there is an accident.
  3. Diaper Bag – Now with the baby, when I am taking her anywhere I need to make sure I have the diaper bag, or else there could be trouble. In the diaper bag there are bottles, diapers, wipes, burpie cloths, an extra outfit, diaper cream, pretty much everything my baby has!

What do you not leave your home without?

Day 11: Favorite TV Shows

I love watching TV. I have no idea why but I will never get bored when watching it. Heck, I even put a TV in between my husbands and mine computers so that I can watch while I play video games! Sad but true. So here are some of my favorite TV programs:

  1. House
  2. Glee
  3. Supernatural
  4. Law & Order: SVU
  5. One Born Every Minute
  6. Sopranos
  7. Teen Mom
  8. True Blood
  9. 16 and Pregnant
  10. Baby Story
  11. How I Met Your Mother
  12. Friends

As you can see I like a lot of different shows and no matter how many times I have seen an episode I will still watch them over and over! This is why I buy the DVDs.

What are your favorite shows?

Day 10: What I am Afraid Of…

Well this is an easy challenge! There are four things that I am afraid of: spiders, heights, mice/rats, and walking up stairs in the dark. Let’s just go over why all of these are HORRIBLE…

Spiders – Terrifying…not only are they sometimes small and hard to see, but this gives them a huge advantage against us. Have you ever had a Wolf Spider in your bed that you felt crawling on you when you were under the covers, which was suppose to be a safe haven for you? I have and it is horrible. Plus there are spiders that have poison in the world! What if one of them bit me? Have you seen that Mentos commercial? The one with the spider that picks up the guy? Yeah…worst nightmare right there!

Heights – I have no idea why but when I am up high, mostly on a roller coaster, I panic and start crying. I have never fell or anything like that but I have never felt my heart race that much before and man it is rough!

Mice/Rat – I have literally MOVED out of my house because of mice. I just cannot stand them. Now, hamsters I love! They are cute and fuzzy. Mice and rats however are evil and gross. I think it is just the nasty tail that bothers me. I shutter to think of them. I cannot even look at them in pet stores. If I see one in my room, I will not sleep there. Again what if they get in the covers with you?! That would be too much for me to handle.

Walking up the steps in the dark – This just gives me the chills. I have no idea why but when it is dark and I need to go upstairs I will RUN up them so that I am safe. I think I just do not want something to grab me us I walk up them and pull me down to my doom.

Yes I know all of these are irrational, but really they all give me the creeps!

What are you afraid of?

Day 9: Pictures of my Best Friends!

Here are some of my favorite pictures of my best friends!

What I have learned from this challenge is that I need to take WAY MORE pictures of my friends!!!

Day 8: A Place I Have Traveled To

I have never been lucky enough to travel out of the country, but I have been quite a few places here in the U.S. My favorite place that I have traveled to was Hawaii. My husband and I went there in July 2009 for our honeymoon. The clear, warm waters were so amazing and the sandy beaches were so pretty. The first day we got there and we went snorkeling and saw so many fish it was unbelievable. However, even though we put a ton of sunscreen on, we got horrible sunburn on our legs! That bothered us the entire trip!

The pool at the hotel was huge and our room was vastly impressive. We were both not used to the heat, so when we would come out of our room, we thought we might melt. One of our favorite things to attend was the luau. I would love to see that show again. Great food, entertainment, and drinks. I would love to visit there again to enjoy everything about the island. I would recommended going here to anyone who loves sun, great food, and warm water.

Day 7: My Favorite Movies

Oh boy! Another hard day with this challenge. For those of you who know me, I have a slight addiction to movies. I should count to just give you an idea but that would take forever…so I will show you a picture of my movie shelf.

I know….pretty full but I love watching movies all the time so I just buy them, even before I seen them once. But I do have some favorites that I cannot get enough of:

  • The Alien Movies. I love all of them! Ripley is the coolest female character ever.
  • Sweeney Todd. Love Musicals and this one has my favorite songs.
  • Hamlet 2. So funny!
  • The Proposal. Chick Flick but a great one.
  • Rocky Horror Picture Show. AMAZING.
  • Choke. I need to read the book because this movie is great.
  • Pulp Fiction. An all time classic!
  • Kill Bill 1&2
  • This list could go on FOREVER!

Ok…let’s just say that I love movies!

What are your favorite movies?

Day 6: A Picture of Something that Makes Me Happy

This is a picture of something that makes me truly happy: my husband and my daughter. 🙂

What makes you truly happy?
